There Was A Man

Where do you fit in the following?

1)  Do you pray too much?
2)  Do you pray enough?
3)  Do you pray too little?

The dictionary has many definitions of prayer, I like this one.  A spiritual communion with God or an object of worship (Christ), as in supplication (praying humbly), thanksgiving, adoration, or confession.

We read in James 5:16, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availed much".

1)  Effectual==An intended effect.
2)  Fervent===Hot or burning desire.
3)  Availeth==Accomplishes much

NIV:  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Prayer is very complicated---yet simple.  It is complicated to those unbelievers, yet simple to those who serve the Lord.  Unbelievers can not comprehend nor do they understand the ways of God, while believers are in constant contact with God and understand that it is His will for them to prosper and be in good health, to love and help their neighbors, to seek out those that are lost and tell them of God, and in general follow the Word in all phases of their life.

There are many kinds of prayer; secret, family, group, public to name a few.
The parts of a prayer are; adoration, confession, supplication, intercession, thanksgiving, etc.  Prayer must contain; believing in Christ, a forgiving spirit, humility, repentance, a pure heart, etc.

Some of the reasons God will refuse to honor our prayers are; sin in our lives, pride, disobedience, doubt, etc.

Prayer is recorded in Godís Holy Word from Genesis to Revelations.  Prayer and praise in our only link to God through His Son Jesus.

God may not always grant us our petitions, but He will always answer our prayers.  Sometimes yes, sometimes no, or sometimes wait a while, but He always answers.  So when you pray, pray believing with the measure of faith God has given you, and remember to always pray according to Godís will.

More later.
