Gone Fishing
Signs of the times, when we have more time for sports than the Lord. You will recall how the Word speaks of folk getting weaker and wiser, that time has arrived. Not only are we weaker in body, but also in mind. We fail to exercise either sufficiently. And wiser there’s no doubt. Consider the advancement made in the past fifty years, far exceeds all the others from the dawn of time.
You can see gone fishing signs or on vacation signs everywhere you go. Sometimes one is hard pressed to find a doctor, lawyer, preacher, or anyone else working. Preachers now-a-days want to have their leisure time also, and rightly so as long as it doesn’t interfere with their shepherding the flock. Years ago Pastors would not think of letting others share their pulpits other than a revival, now they only want to preach once a week. How sad.
There have been times in my life when I have longed for an old time preacher man with nary a one in sight. How I wish and pray for our pastors to get back to the basics of
preaching and teaching Gods Holy Word.
Many’s the time when I heard my old Grandmother sing and shout while cleaning house. Now days someone would call the men in the white coats to come and cart one away for Now days someone would call the men in the white coats to come and cart one away for shouting and praising God while doing housework. I cannot believe how far we have regressed in our Worship to God.
If there comes a time in your life when you feel the need to witness to someone, get it done. Don’t let the opportunity pass you by; it may be your last chance.
