Forgiveness

The greatest gift that God gives is his forgiveness.  "He was not willing that anyone should perish, so he gave us his Son as an atonement for our sins." God forgives those who acknowledge their sin and their need for a Savior.  This is why we have Christmas, Jesus was God's gift to all those want forgiveness.  "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." If we acknowledge that we aren't perfect and have done things against God's laws admitting this to him, he promises to forgive us. Then like a child desires to please his parent because the child loves his parent, likewise we should want to please our heavenly father, and we strive to do that in word and deed. God gave the Bible as an instruction book, a book that guides us to help us know what is right and wrong. Many of our countries law's are based on what was written in this book.  Just like the laws of the country this book was written for our good. God knew the "wages of sin was death" he didn't want us to have to pay that price so he gave us a better option, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believed in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."  This is the greatest promise in the Bible. This is God's gift to us.  To serve and love Him is our gift to him, and how do we serve Him you ask?  Loving Him with all our heart and our neighbor as ourself. Who is our neighbor you ask?  Those people all around us, not just and friends and relatives, it's everyone even our enemies.  When people look at us they need to see the love of God pouring out to all his children, for the one's who are most unlovable are the ones who need to be loved the most. Everyone has a unique set of circumstances that put them on their life's journey, many have made the wrong turn and need to be shown that there is a better road if they will just yield their hearts to feel the love of God.  We must be careful not to judge but forgive all just as God forgives us.

I wish you all, peace, love and joy during this Christmas season.  May the babe in the manger be the King of your heart!
