The year 2005 is represented by number 7 - associated in western astrology with Neptune and in Hindu astro-logy with Ketu.

There is a strong upsurge towards spiritualism, non-attachment to worldly pleasures, desires and materialism.
 
The year 2005 comes under the banner of 'Spirituality' and is ruled by the strongest God Force represented by number 7.
 
In Western Astrology, this number is associated with the watery planet Neptune and in Hindu Astrology it swings to the moods of the half-planet Ketu.
 
It is said that during our time, which is in 'kaliyug' (the era of darkness), Rahu, Ketu and Saturn have become more powerful and active than other planets and exert maximum influence on mankind and the earth as a whole.
 
Ketu is the 'Dragon's Tail', the 'Dragon's Head' being Rahu. These two half-planets are the two nodes of the Moon and are imaginary points in the ecliptic path of the Moon. Rahu and Ketu are considered destructive, regressive and malefic though Ketu is much less malefic than its counterpart.
 
The reason for this being that Ketu is deemed 'Moksha Karak' which translates as 'the cause of Liberation of man from the repeated cycles of life and death'.
 
Under the operating influence of Ketu, there is a strong upsurge towards spiritualism, non-attachment to worldly pleasures and desires and towards materialism. Number 7 brings wisdom, increase in discriminating powers and a kind of an awakening to the real needs of the soul who is ever in quest for knowledge that would lead towards enlightenment.
 
There are only four kinds of people in this world of ours as Buddha categorized, those going:
 
• From brightness to brightness
• From brightness to darkness
• From darkness to brightness or
• From darkness to darkness
 
The choice is entirely yours to regress or progress, for repentance will surely bring forgiveness, goodness will bring goodness, compassion towards fellow beings would solicit divine mercy and vice versa. Though 2005 is not a karmic year, it is the year of divine justice preparing to break its nib on judgments to be delivered in the year 2006.

This is the right time to set your records right and make peace if it is peace that you seek in life for you can rest assured that you will reap as you sow. The universe will give back to you what you give out to it. People tend to take the intelligence of Nature very lightly and play with its operating system and hence tsunamis are created through the wrath of the Creator.
 
The year 2005 could see more natural disasters connected with the earth and waters of the world and only prayers and a withdrawal from our assaults on nature could and would perhaps avert life-altering assaults from nature.

In its more mundane aspect, this year will create misunderstandings, estrangements and difficulties in personal as well as in business relationships.
 
• Legal battles would be concluded and won and on the other hand you could easily get involved or implicated in lawsuits too.
 
• Technology will progress by leaps and bounds making new and unimaginable breakthroughs in various fields.
 
• Those dealing in liquids, white materials, fashion industry, interior decorating, agriculture, herbs, pharmaceuticals and medicine will find success. It will be a good year for Educationalists, Teachers, and Journalists and for Artists and Film Makers.
 
• Man-led combats would be on a low key this year as there will be a universal awakening for the dire need for peace and comradeship. Nations will be connected on a more humanitarian level than ever before.
 
• The Guru and Guide will be much sought after as individuals will realize the importance of being centred and so will seek a spiritual anchor.
 
• Occult sciences such as Astrology, Numerology, Spiritual Healing, Tantra, Mantra and Magic will be in focus.
 
Lucky numbers in 2005 are 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Numbers 1, 2 and 9 may face problems. Number 3 will have a neutral fare.
