A Healing House

A Healing House In Lorreto,Italy
*********
On my second travels to Italy I discovered a beautiful Catholic Cathedral in the city of Loreto where the original home of the Holy Family resides. I noticed that there was a quaint old monk resting on a tall chair across from the entrance of the holy house. Flowing downward upon the front of his brown habit was a soft white beard. He was behind a long dark wooden table graciously gathering penance gifts for the blessed holy oils, which were carefully placed in small viles. I later packed them cautiously within my luggage for the long journey back home in the states.
There is a wonderful story of how the angels carried the holy house all the way from Nazareth, and it now rest in the midst of the church’s sanctuary. Actually they built the church around the little Holy House. As I walked inside I was faced with the same monk from the outer table, he was shushing people, because they were talking and had forgotten to reverence the little house as a holy place where Jesus, Mary and Joseph had resided as a family during the early formative years of the Christ Child. I sat on the stone base flooring and leaning up against the brick walls to meditate on the triune God, the most amazing presence over came my senses. I had the feeling of being gently moved in a circular type motion. Then I gazed upward at the lanterns hanging from both sides of the walls. THE LANTERNS WERE MOVING SLOWLY IN A CIRCULAR MOTION TOO! The entire holy house was suspended in air, floating. My faith was so moved that I went outside of the little house and sat in front of a crucifix. I forgot the hour and found myself praying for a long time. The Blessed Sacrament was exposed in the same area and I felt the power of God in this church and in my heart. Tears were falling down the cheeks of my face, yet I was overwhelmed with happiness and upon looking around I recognized that almost everyone else here was experiencing the same beauty… the presence of God.
As a Eucharistic minister for the Roman Catholic Church I am able to pray over and ask God’s blessings for individuals, administer holy oil, baptize and especially take Holy Communion to the sick. Needless to say I took the holy oil to my brother Dickie and anointed and prayed over him in the presence of our younger sister Brenda. After pronouncing the blessing prayer in the name of the Trinity, he lifted his head with a big smile and I felt at this point my pilgramage to Italy was completed. That summer evening of the year 2002 there was a joy in his living room. It was a moment that surpasses other joyous occasions. There are no words for it … it is an inner spring-filled feeling of harmony and peace, indescribable and incredible. I believe this to be God’s love from the presence of the Healing Holy House of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

If this letter finds you in the need of a healing please take courage that GOD WILL HEAL YOU!
Perhaps the healing of God is an extra blessing of LOVE on his heroes for their suffering.
I believe Heroes are made not born, but God is the one who blesses them!
God works through us and with us, never abandoning our needs.
Inspirational Readings:
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
James 5:13-16 (13) Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. (14) Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: (15) And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he had committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. (16) Confess your faults one to another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
