Such An Odd Color For This Time Of Year (Posted: Feb 19,   Modified: Feb 19)
It's winter and everything is covered in snowy white. It's actually quite pretty with the sunlight glistening off of it like sparkling diamonds. Even my skin is whiter than usual due to lack of sunlight. Here I am wrapped in my winter gear with only eyes and nose peeking out but knowing underneath it all my skin is as white as the snow. If not for my brightly colored coat, boots, scarf and mittens I'd blend right into this winter white landscape. Such a serene scene of white on white but wait ... what is it that I see emerging from the grocery store? Hands and face of glowing orange that matches the Cheese It snack crackers in the grocery bag of it's owner. Who would dare to punctuate this white winter scene and how? Those darned youngsters with those new fangled tanning booths have inserted color where there used to be none. I'm old fashioned and used to that color being reserved for hot weather and short shorts and sunshine. I guess I'll wait until summer time to brown my skin in my backyard while I tend the garden. You won't find me lying on a bed of bulbs burning my skin like an easy bake oven. Likewise you won't find me standing in a glowing booth browning like my toast in the toaster. It's such an odd color for this time of year when winter is all about sparkling white snow and pasty white skin.
