Hi, my name is Shawn and I have lived in the Midwest my entire life. I enjoy being out in the country. This is my "baby", Lexi. I also have a 26 year old Quarter Horse, Susie and two cats, Alfie and Joey Ramone. I have had many injuries from horses but none from mine. Have spent most of this fall and winter trying to recover from a broken foot that just keeps leading to other complications. So I have had plenty of time to write and draw. I spend way too much time on the internet. I built my own website for the graphic arts that I do. I illustrate children's books for my friends. I was a member of The Poet's Workshop and now I reside much more happily at allpoetry.com. I find much more inspiration and a lot less aggravation there. I try to write every day. I am married to a wonderful man who supports my efforts as he is an excellent musician and engineer and very creative himself. I am bipolar and have a severe chemical imbalance which I am being treated for. I do not judge others and please do not judge me for a valid medical condition. These days when the dark feelings come upon me I write about them instead of act upon them. I thought that besides my poetry a blog would be a great place to work on venting my feelings. I am trying to stay positive. I do have a silly sense of humor and I like to make people laugh.

Finally (Posted: Feb 5)
Well, I finally have an actual copy of "Ray" the donkey book that I can hold in my hands and read. It turned out beautiful. Good thing, after all the hard work and money that went into making it. I hope we at least make enough to pay for ink. My God, I didn't even get two whole copies out of one ink cartridge. And of course, I can't go to the office supply store by myself with a broken foot so I am sitting here going crazy wanting to work. This printer should be running 24/7 and I should be binding away. I will get some more tomorrow. Patience.

D already has two other projects for me to start on. She is going to run me ragged. That's ok. I like doing it and I like having the work to do. She is a very nice lady and a good friend. It is too bad that we live so far away from one another. All my best friends live in other states.

Tomorrow I have to go get a chest x-ray to see if the pneumonia has cleared up. I think I am doing better. It is PB's day off and then he will take me to the office supply store and the post office and we will eat lunch at the GOP. I haven't been there forever. They won't be surprised to see that it is an injury that has kept me away. Also need to take Susie's supplements out to the barn. It won't be too much longer and she will be coming home. I can't wait until I am better and can ride her again.
