Welcome |
Halig Daeg
Many liberals, humanists and secularists avoid saying “Merry Christmas” because it’s “religious” and say “Happy Holidays” instead. I always get a kick out of that because the root of “holiday” is the Old English “halig daeg” which translates into modern English as "holy day." So Happy Holy Days every one.
I must admit, however that I say “Happy Holidays” because I honor the birth of Christ, the lights of Hanukkah, the magic of the solstice and the prayers of Kwanza.
